Audio for Meditation

1. Make your two columns of Love and Dislike lists

  • Prepare two columns on your A4 size paper, one heading saying “LOVE” and one heading saying “DISLIKE”.
  • Under the “LOVE” heading, write all the things you love about yourself
    • physically
    • mentally
    • emotionally
    • on spiritual or soul level
  • Under the “DISLIKE” heading, write all the things you do not like about yourself
    • judgements you have about your physical appearance
    • neuroses you are carrying
    • repetitive thoughts and self-judgements
    • ideas about how you can never be a Goddess or a spiritual being
    • judgements from others or society
    • any feelings or ideas about disliking yourself

2. Looking in the Mirror

One sitting takes about 15 – 20 minutes. In one sitting the work may not be completed. You may need more sessions (3 – 4 times a week is optimum). Continue doing your self-healing practice until the LOVE list is very long and the DISLIKE list is very short or non-existent.

  • Sit naked in front of a full-length mirror.
  • Look at your body in the mirror, then look at your list and check; is there anything that can be deleted from your “DISLIKE” list? Is there anything that can be added to your “LOVE” list? Continue like this, back and forth for about 15 – 20 minutes.
    • It is not about transferring from the “DISLIKE” list to “LOVE” list.
    • Simply contemplate what you have written, and then check again – “Is there anything I can delete from the DISLIKE list?” Contemplate your form in the mirror, which contains not only your physical but your psychological and spiritual dimensions.
    • Check in if there is anything you can add to the “LOVE” list.
    • This method is a process. Don’t be in a hurry to finish it. Many memories, realisations and breakthroughs may arise as you do this method. Take it as a regular practice till, through ever deepening contemplation, you have achieved a very long love list.
